Climate Alliance Portugal opens its doors

Climate Alliance is proud to announce Portugal as the latest addition to the Climate Alliance family of National Coordination Offices across Europe.

After Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland, there are now a total of seven national coordination offices in the network.

“I am quite ashamed of the planet my generation is passing on to the next and that is why I choose to work both with schools and municipalities – the former can ensure a better future and the second can make a difference right now,” explains António Gonçalves Pereira, the new face of Climate Alliance Portugal. Also a Climate Pact Ambassador and Coordinator of Ecomood, a Portuguese NGO working to foster sustainable mindsets, behaviours and solutions, António has devoted his life to the promotion of sustainability.

He will now also be working to expand Climate Alliance’s reach in Portugal beyond the current member cities of Cascais and Guimarães. Climate Alliance’s national coordination offices bring the network added value through dedicated national assistance while channelling the needs and voice of members in their countries. Each chapter is characterised by a different structure and sets its own focal themes according national conditions, carrying out projects with and for the members it serves.
