Promoting resilience, strengthening communities

It’s no coincidence that “nature-based” is one of the five Climate Alliance pricinples. Our network advocates living in harmony with nature – an understanding that we also apply to climate adaptation efforts. For municipalities, this means daring to embrace more nature, enabling green-blue infrastructure, expanding infiltration areas, reducing sealed surfaces, creating cooler places and much more! Smart strategies to fight the effects of heat waves, climate-adapted buildings and data-based planning, too, build urgently needed resilience at the local level.

Climate Alliance was promoting climate adaptation long before it was ever deemed essential in policy arenas. As a network, have stood by our members throughout Europe on the topic and we continue to offer our support through a wide range of activities – from informative events and European project work to practical assistance and interactive exchange formats.
